Bourne to host BRM festival

The small Lincolnshire market town of Bourne is to be turned into a recreation of a 1962 Grand Prix as the home of BRM celebrates 50 years since the marque won the Constructors’ title and the World Championship with Graham Hill.
On October 7 a three-quarter mile section of public road will be closed and used for demonstration runs for a range of BRMs as well as a field of cars from the 1962 Grand Prix season. Damon Hill is expected to drive a P57 of the type that his father raced in 1962.
“We are hoping to have examples of most of the BRMs,” said former BRM employee and restoration ace Rick Hall, who has lived in Bourne all his life.
A gathering of former BRM drivers and mechanics, a cavalcade of road cars from 1962, a lypast by the Dakota from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and live period music will complete the day, which runs from 11am to 4.30pm.
