The BBC Microcomputer System or BBC Micro is a series of computers designed by Acorn Computers for the British broadcaster BBC. The aim of the computer was to increase computer literacy in the UK. It was adopted by most schools in the country. The computers were based on the MOS Technology 6502 processor.
The platform documents the following models:
- Model A (December 1981) with 16KB RAM
- Model B (December 1981) with 32KB RAM
- Model B+ (1985) with 64KB RAM, not fully compatible due to changes in the floppy-disk controller.
- Model B+125 (1985) with 128KB RAM
- BBC Master (1986)
The computer shares some of its game catalog with theAcorn Electron, because its shares the BASIC language variant, and the OS.
