Was limited to 26 games due to knee injuries in his first season with the Angels.  Made 22 starts at catcher … threw out 3-28 (10.7 percent) of attempted basestealers … Angels pitchers posted a 4.29 ERA (90 ER/189.0 IC) when he was behind the plate.  Hit safely in eight of nine games from 4/10-5/2, going 12-32 (.375) with three homers, seven RBI and a 1.099 OPS.  Made his second career appearance at third base in the ninth inning on 5/12 vs. St. Louis (also 6/4/13 at Boston with Texas).  Was on the disabled list from 5/18-7/8 with a torn right meniscus and missed 48 games.  Was on the disabled list for the second time from 7/16-8/9 with left knee inflammation … missed the remainder of the season after being placed on the disabled list for the third time on 8/15 with right knee inflammation.  Appeared in six games with Carolina in the Puerto Rican Winter League, going 5-20 (.250) with one RBI.

Spent the season with the White Sox batting .219 (41-for-187) with nine home runs and 21 RBIs in 78 games... 78 appearances and 41 hits were highest totals since 2012 (99 G, 64 H). Posted a .988 fielding percentage in 73 games behind the plate while throwing out 30 percent of would-be base stealers... The 30 percent caught stealing rate led the club and was good for third by a backstop in the A.L. Central (min. 70 G).
