Named after the Haita Village in the Miyi County of Sichuan Province, China, where the mineral was discovered. The suffix/modifier follows the Levinson rule for species with essential REE indicating, in this case, predominant lanthanum.
Type Locality:
Probably the U analogue ofdavidite-(La) and La analogue ofcleusonite,mapiquiroite andmianningite. Unique combination of (species-defining) elements.
