Colour in reflected light:
Light grey; dark gray in oil.
Internal Reflections:
Frequent white to brownish internal reflections (the brown color likely due to enclosing sphalerite).
Comments:
The optical properties are very close to those of cassiterite.

In a zinc deposit formed in metamorphosed lower Paleozoic sediments.
