Named in honor of Frank Croydon Perham (5 March 1934 - January 31, 2023), geologist and pegmatite miner of West Paris, Maine, USA, in honor and recognition of his dedicated labors in the recovery of mineral specimens.
Co-Type Localities:
Structurally related tocrandallite but not a member of thePlumbogummite Group.

Visually similar to various crandallite-group minerals andiangreyite. See alsokrásnoite, a mineral closely related toperhamite.

Stands for a precursor for iangreyite, via selective leaching of layer-contained silica followed by layers rejoining via coalescence of the AlO4 tetrahedra from the adjacent layers into trigonal bypiramids of the AlO2(OH)3 composion (Keck et al., 2022).
