The Ba-Fe deposits of this area, including the Pollone mine, are located on the southern edge of a tectonic window called "S. Anna Window".

Note on the mineral list:

Many of the well known supposed "geocronite" crystals from here have turned out on more recent analyses to bejordanite.Analyses is needed to determine the exact species of each individual specimen.
