Granite Gap is a mountain gap.

Structure: Deposits occur in fractures and breccia zones adjacent to porphyry dikes.

Deposit: Ten patented claims mineral survey numbers 1302 and 2036 covering about 160 acres. Irregular masses and stringers of oxidized ore minerals in highly fractured Pennsylvanian Horquilla limestone and Mississippian Escabrosa limestone near dikes of granite porphyry. About $1.2 million worth produced, $600,000 of it before 1906; info.src: 1 pub lit; 2 unpub rept.
