Carbonate-hosted Pb-Zn deposit.

Zinc mine in the "Concession des mines d'Engis".

The concession of Engis belonged to the "Société de la Nouvelle Montagne"; within this concession, there were 3 mines: La Mallieue, Dos, and Fagnes.

The zinc factory was located on the banks of the Meuse river near the Mallieue mine.

Colour: yellowish to brownish (polarized light), orange to greenish (anisotropy)
Description: Associated with pyrite, marcasite, sphalerite, and galena. Microprobe analysis gave (Fe3.91Pb0.10Ni0.02)(S8.00As0.01)O1.16.
