One of the three largest deposits of halloysite in the world (USA, New Zealand). The accumulation of halloysite is a product of basalt and basalt breccia (original volcanics rocks of the Cenozoic Central European Volcanic Province) weathering in Neogene. Interseting is, that illite/montomorillonite veins of hydrothermal origin from basalt breccia's are unchanged.
The resources of halloysite are estimated at over 10 million tons.
