The lenticular or stratabound Yiliu Pb-Zn-As orebodies are bounded in the skarn zone in the Tianziling and Menggong’ao formations. Sulfide orebodies strike along NE (10–40°) and dip to the northwest (dipping angle 33–50°). In general, the ore bodies hosted in limestone are larger in scale, more regular in shape and more stable in occurrence, but the ore bodies hosted in skarn are smaller in scale, vary significantly in occurrence and shape, and lower in ore grades. Wallrock alterations at Yiliu Pb-Zn-As deposit are well developed and dominated by skarnization, silicification, chloritization, fluoritization, carbonation, dolomitization and marbleization.
the mineralization process of the Yiliu Pb-Zn-As deposit can be divided into two periods and five stages, as follows: the skarn period (anhydrous silicate stage and hydrous silicate stage) and the quartz-sulfide period (K-feldspar stage, quartz-sulfide stage and quartz-calcite stage). Abundant euhedral-subhedral granular arsenopyrite is observed in all stages expect for anhydrous silicate stage. Anhydrous silicate stage contains garnet. Hydrous silicate stage contains actinolite, quartz and minor accessory mineral apatite. K-feldspar stage is represented by K-feldspar and quartz with minor arsenopyrite and muscovite. In the quartz-sulfide stage, the main minerals are quartz, arsenopyrite, sphalerite, fluorite, chalcopyrite, galena and pyrite with minor muscovite, chlorite, sericite and tetrahedrite. Quartz-calcite stage contains quartz, calcite with minor tetrahedrite.
