Epithermal polymetallic deposit, consisting of an early copper-gold mineralization which has been overprinted by a late zinc-gold-silver mineralization.

Skarn alteration in the Yaojialing deposit is controlled by contact zone of QMP and limestone, and characterized by zonation varying from an endoskarn comprised massive grossular and minor diopside) outward an exoskarn comprised massive andradite and magnetite to an outer massive grossular, hedenbergite, and sphalerite, where a mass of sphalerite-galena hydrothermal vein occurs in distal with 500 m vertical direction distance away from skarn zone. There is no skarn alteration in the shallow part of the deposit despite GDP in direct contact with the Qixia Formation limestone, indicating very limited fluid exsolution from GDP. The shallow contact zone is characterized by fluid escape structure and sphalerite-galena hydrothermal vein occurs in granodiorite porphyry and limestones, suggesting that they are both wall-rocks of ore veins.

Mineralization in the Yaojialing deposit mainly consists of disseminated Zn-Cu-Au-Co-Te mineralization within deep skarn zone and veined Zn-Pb-Ag-Cd mineralization within granodiorite porphyry and limestone in the shallow part of the deposit.
