| ⓘ'Calcium Amphibole Subgroup' Formula:AnCa2(Z2+5-mZ3+m)(Si8-(n+m)Al(n+m))(OH,F,Cl)2 Description: Sadashivajah, M.S., and Naganna, C. (1964) published the amphibole from Jothvad Hill as winchite. Their analysis show some anomalies, as Ʃ(Si+Al)< 8, ƩC position<5 and ƩA position >1. Based on a high Ca content it is likely that the amphibole analysed by Sathe et. al (1965) belongs to the Calcium Amphibole Subgroup. |
