On the right of the road, just 50 m before the first building of Le Mazet ore dressing, coming from Echassières.
During May 2008, trees were cut down and Le Mazet vein dumps became accessible. Remediated.

The mineralization is similar to that of theLes Montmins mine (Ste Barbe vein), although the micromounts are usually not as spectacular.

NOTE: A detailed article on the mineralogy, including several new determinations for the whole Échassières area, is currently in preparation (U. Kolitsch, 2008-2025).

Habit: Very elongated minute cristals (about 200µ), square section and pyramidal terminations, metalic luster.
Colour: black
Description: Quite resembling to those from "Les Montmins".Description fits that of a cryptomelane-group mineral, therefore status changed to "unconfirmed" (Uwe Kolitsch, 17 Sept. 2014).
