A newly discovered deposit located 50 km (31 miles) north of the Dukat mines. The workings are both open pit and underground. Ore from the high-grade zones is collected, hand-sorted and stockpiled. Deposits in this ore field occur in andesitic volcanic rocks and in the contact halo of a well-differentiated granitic intrusion of granodiorite bulk composition that has intruded carbonaceous sandstones and siltstones of Mesozoic age. Three types of ore are mentioned: quartz-rhodonite (Ag:Au::700:1); Propylitically altered andesite (194:1); and, carbonate ore (reportedly high Ag:Au ratios locally). Mineralized zones have widths to 25 meters (82 feet) and strike lengths to 800 meters (2,625 feet) Ore reportedly contains as much as 4.9 to 8.5 kg/ton Ag (142 to 248 os/ton). Reserves reported to be 611,000 oz Au at 3 g/ton (0.09 oz/st) and 128.6 million oz Ag at 650 g/ton (19 oz/st).
