Note: As has been pointed out, some old labels have this locality listed as being sited at 'Gulnare' rather than Spalding. While this may not as such, be considered incorrect, almost all literature and official notation, lists this site as ‘Spalding’.
Thus it remains a personal choice as to which way one labels specimens.
An area where anatase was first collected in the 1970s to 1980s was at that time part of the Bundaleer Reservoir. It has been sold and is now part of Bundaleer station. Hence the reason for naming this locality Bundaleer area rather than Bundaleer Reservoir.
Although some believe Gulnare is closer to this locality, it is approx 9.6 km, where as Spalding is approx 7 km. The confusion comes from the road distance being almost equal. Comparison Google Earth maps have been added to support this.

Special Note: While this remains as the original site noted for anatase, Vince Peisley has recently been cataloguing anatase findings at numerous sites in the surrounding areas. Suggesting its occurrence may be more widespread than first thought. Once Vince has finished his work, and can allow his data to be published, this page may be adjusted to suit; alternately a separate page may be needed depending on his findings.
