Description: Sheafs of small stubby crystals (about 1-3 cm) in cavities of an altered volcanic rock (tuff). Pyramidal terminations of hexagonal symmetry with normal rhombohedral faces. Prism faces and occasional steep rhombohedral faces show split growth patterns. Crystals are translucent and of an even lilac color. Possibly grown as beta-quartz.
