The Skjerpemyr mine is the most interesting and richest mine in the Grua District.

The area is protected by law (of 1984.11.16 nr 1909) as a Natural History site ("Naturminne" in Norwegian) and it is not allowed to collect at the site.

Hammering and digging is strictly forbidden.
