Welcome toThe Stampede, 2023–2024!

We are a student-run publication based at Milligan University, committed to reporting on the quirky things that make us Milligan, as well as on the heavier topics that affect us as individuals and as a community at large. Our vision is to be a catalyst for important discussions and a forum in which this discourse can take place.

Periodically, you can expect the latest in news from our campus and community on the website and social media.

Founded in 1925,The Stampede is Milligan’s student-operated news source online and in print.

Here to serve

The Stampede exists to serve Milligan University and the surrounding community by:

  • Reporting news of interest and importance in the community.
  • Providing information to the community.
  • Serving as an open forum for members of the community, primarily for students.
  • Serving as an essential educational instrument in the Communications Area.
  • Providing educational and extracurricular opportunities for other students.
  • To foster responsible, informed engagement among members of the community.

Online, Print, Social Media, Multimedia

  • The Stampede provides news content through weekly updates to its website.
  • A regularly published newspaper is available in newsstands around campus.
  • Multimedia: video online, podcasts, and social media (Facebooks, Twitter, and Instagram)

Recap 03/27

“Little Women” The Musical premiered at the Gregory Center. Tickets are $12, and the show is running March 27-30.

Men’s and Women’s Tennis competed against Pikeville (KY) at Bob Amos Park. The men’s team won 4-3, and the women’s team lost to Upike.

Men’s Outdoor Track & Field competed at the Raleigh Relays in Raleigh, NC. Competition runs March 27-29.

Women’s Flag Football played against Emmanuel at Citizen’s Bank Stadium and won 42-12.

MU Prayer took place in Lower Seeger.

Webb Lectures continued in Seeger Chapel with speakerLance Hanbey for 1 SFP credit.

Open Mic Night happened in Lower Seeger.
