2011 Hall of Fame induction info
The 2011 Class of Florida State League Hall of Fame Inductees will be inducted on Nov. 2, 2011 at the Plaza Resort and Spa in Daytona Beach, Fla. Tickets for the 3rd Annual Event will be $75 per person. The cost of the ticket includes a reception, dinner, and the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremonies. Dress is coat and tie. The ceremony is open to the public, and rooms will be available at the rate of $99 plus tax. 2010 Hall of Fame Dinner announced
The Florida State League 2010 Hall of Fame Ceremony will start with cocktails at 6:00 p.m. Dinner is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. with the ceremony to follow. The event will take place on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 in Clearwater Beach at the Hilton Clearwater Beach Resort. FSL reveals 2010 Hall of Fame details

Florida State League induction ceremony set for Nov. 9
Final Plans are underway for the 2009 Florida State League Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.
The inaugural ceremony will be held on November 9, 2009 at the Plaza Resort and Spa located at 600 N. Atlantic Avenue in Daytona Beach, Fla.

Florida State League announces inaugural inductees
The Florida State League is announcing the establishment of the Hall of Fame and is releasing the names of the first inductees to be accepted and awarded this prestigious honor. The event will take place on November 9, 2009 at the Plaza Resort and Spa Hotel in Daytona Beach, FL.
The public will be invited to attend and details will be forthcoming at a later date.
The following personnel have been selected by a committee for their participation in the Florida State League at the beginning of their illustrious careers in baseball:
- Johnny Bench, 1965 Tampa Tarpons
- Rod Carew, 1965 Orlando Twins
- Gary Carter, 1972 West Palm Beach Expos
- Rollie Fingers, 1965 Leesburg Athletics

Two Field Managers, Stan Wasiak, 1983-86, Vero Beach, and John Lipon, 1988-92, Lakeland, distinguished themselves as the winningest managers in Minor League baseball and are also being honored. Although deceased, they contributed tremendously to the hundreds of players who came through to league and had the benefit of their knowledge and leadership.
One Chief Executive who was General Manager of the Tampa Tarpons, and later became the President of the National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues is also being inducted. Mike Moore, recently retired, gave baseball a new insight on promoting and revising its program to benefit clubs, players, communities, and most of all, the fans.
Umpires play a great part in this game of baseball, and the name Harry Wendelstedt, Jr. is well known not only as an umpire in the Major Leagues, but also for his umpire school in Ormond Beach, Florida. He, along with Phil Cuzzi, whose stint in the Florida State League led to his comeback in Major League Umpiring are being inducted.
The Florida State League also voted to include one of the most outstanding owners who has been instrumental in keeping baseball in Florida. That man is George Steinbrenner of the New York Yankees and the Tampa Yankees Baseball Clubs.

Florida State League establishes Hall of Fame
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The Florida State League of Professional Baseball is pleased to announce the establishment of a Hall of Fame to commemorate the outstanding accomplishments of players, managers, umpires and owners who have excelled in the Florida State League and the baseball world.
The awards and ceremonies will take place at the Florida State League Winter Meetings at Daytona Beach in November.
A slate of inductees is being prepared and the names will be made known in a future press release.
The public will be invited to attend, and information about tickets will be available in the league office or from any of the 12 teams in the League at a future date to be determined.
