TheLuminoth Energy Control System is the planet-wide structure used by theLuminoth to regulate and preserve theplanetary energy of their planet,Aether.[1] Since Aether is arogue planet and therefore without its own sun,technological enhancement was necessary to prevent the planet from dying out. Main functions and power flow regulation are operated using the fourEnergy Controllers in theGreat Temple, theAgonTemple, theTorvusTemple, and theSanctuaryTemple.[2]

Besides preserving the Light of Aether, other functions of the Luminoth Energy Control System include an artificial, planet-wide weather grid and ateleportation system.[3]
