My least favorite Kelly Reichardt film. Loved her films with Michelle Williams but The Mastermind was way too much of a yawn. Love the lead Josh O'Conner but this was my least favorite film he has done. Do not recommend.
Heartfelt look at living with dementia. The film without melodrama shows the day to day existence in memory loss ward. Kathleen Chalfant gives a pitch perfect performance.
Stephen Sondheim musical Merrily We Roll Along has stood the test of time. Brilliant songs and story make a heartfelt musical. The show is a meditation on time, friendship, love, and success. Spectacular performances by Jonathan Groff and Daniel Radcliffe netted them Tony Awards.
Beautiful film on mother, daughters and grandmother in modern day Taipei. Grand daughter growing up in this interesting triangle is what makes this film a wonderful story.
2025 Oscar winner for best documentary. Its subject — the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is more relevant today in 2026 after seeing the genocide and starvation Palestinians in Gaza.
Was expecting a more nuanced film. This was a horror film with monsters around every corner. If the goal was to beat up the main character and the audience then the director succeeded.
Tess Thompson gives a magnificent performnce. The film an incredible revisionist "Hedda Gabler" and women's role in a male dominated world and how to survive in it.
A beautiful meditation on life. Amazing Oscar quality performance by Joel Edgarton and William Macy. Cinematography is stunning. Gravitas of the film slowly unfurls and story sweeps you away.
The film beautifully captures the history of the LGBTQ community in San Francisco. Emilia Jones, plays the teenage Alysia and gives a heartfelt understated performance. Highly recommend.
I can see this film racking up Oscar nominations. At first it shows a possible future of an authoritarian America. And it's also an action thriller, comedy and fantastic satire. Brilliant acting by DiCaprio and Penn. And best for last Paul Thomas Anderson does an incredible job directing the film.
Movie all over the place and sad homage to Kurosawa classic "High and Low". Denzel Washington not up to snuff. Spike Lee who I think is a great filmmaker did a dud. Waste of time.
Expecting same level of entertainment, wit, satire and drama as "Succession". "Mountainhead" failed on all counts. Waste of time. Even THE house was not that great.
A must watch spy thriller. Great entertainment. Soderbergh's direction is at the top of his form. Cate Blanchett and Michael Fassbender acting is beyond wonderful.
Best Film! Best Director! Best Actor! A visionary film like 'Oppenheimer'. I was amazed at the acting by Adrian Brody who may win his second Oscar. Gorgeous cinematography. Fantastic screenplay.
One of 2024’s most discussable, debatable movies stops you in your tracks and makes you think like no other movie has in a very long time. Watch it and wait for the ending.
Wow! One of the best movies of the year! Oscar worthy Best Picture and more nominations. See it on the big screen. Great performances by Ariane Grande and Cynthia Erivo.
The film was boring and self indulgent. Did I miss something or everything? Did research. Read glowing article on the director in The New Yorker. Went to Metacritic and the score is 86! Read New York Times review of 100! I still feel it was boring and do not recommend.
Must watch thriller! Anna Kendricks directorial debut is fantastic as is her acting. Edge of your seat suspense film based on serial killer Rodney Alcala who was a contestant on The Dating Game.
Amazing film on the male gaze and treatment of women by Hollywood and the entertainment industry. Demi Moore's acting is superb and may land her an Oscar nomination.
Saw "The Favourite" a second time and was more impressed than first time. Amazing performances by Olivia Coleman (Oscar), Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz. The direction by Yorgos Lanthimos as good as "Poor Things." Worth seeing twice.
Watch it and enjoy a very good film. What starts as a gay rom com, becomes a meta-social media-indie commentary that morphs to a crime mystery thriller.
Emma Stone gives the performance of the year! A fantastical film on becoming a woman in a world controlled by men. Stunning art direction, set design and fashion.
Oscar nominations Best Picture, Director, Actress, Screenplay and more. One of the best movies of the year. Brilliant story. Amazing acting by incredible cast.
Loved movie and the relationships that unfold. Was not expecting a Christmas movie but it was. Paul Giamatti gives one of the best performances of 2023.
