PikuNiku is a charming game, with pleasant artstyle, cute looks and good color pallete, gameplay-wise, the game is short, but very fun. The puzzles aren't too hard, but they still need a bit of brain-power to solve, you'll end up feeling smart when you finish them. The platforming is and feels very good, the bosses are very good, its a simple yet quite difficult segment, if you're new to the game or haven't played in a while, you'll die a few times. The characters and their dialogues are also charming and funny, and the additional quests are just awesome, the basketball mini-game is chaotic and fun, the toast one is just pure madness. I like that you get trophies for them, too. Overall, PikuNiku is a laidback experience for more casual gamers.
I like this game, the physics simulation is cool and the customization is okay. But I have my issues. The movement is good, but the UI is TERRIBLE, it feels like a placeholder, it's an EYESORE, FIX IT! The level design is meh, oftentimes they grab a feature or two and have that be the ENTIRE LEVEL, and it's SO TEDIOUS! The songs don't fit the goofy vibe, and the FX ****, it's annoying. Models are mid, I know it's islands in the sky, but they fail to make it look good, it feels like the room got cut off, rather than just being open.Overall, the only way to blind yourself of these issues is by playing with a friend, your focus will be directed to the funny things in the game.
Very fun, with many unique features that make it stand out as a survival game, but 7 hours into the game, I got pretty bored, eventually, it just becomes grinding until you can get to see more cool stuff.
A great sandbox game. I like that it's not just throwing stuff around, but rather playing games inside... a game, eat, and surfing the internet. You can also do the objectives, which are just as fun! But it's too short, to be honest, and the platinum is too easy.
I like LocoRoco 2 better than the first, the menus were improved, the new mini-games are better than the first's, the gameplay was expanded, with rhythm things, and new ways to find stuff, I also like that they repeat some regions of the LocoRoco world, so you don't just enjoy them once. Overall, the gameplay was just a bit polished, everything else is... Kinda the same as LocoRoco 1.
I absolutely LOVE Dreams. It's my favorite Media Molecule game. You can make a game, which will take a while, but is super fun, and may even get you started in a bit of logic for future, non-Dreams games, or play the awesome games made by the community, and put awesome in that. Media Molecule makes some games for Dreams, and they're actually pretty high-effort! I really like Media Molecule actually colaborates with Dreams' community to make games, it's the best example of user-developer interaction one could ever find. I do think the tutorial for Dreams is annoying and not targeted at the main audience, and that Dreams' "engine" system thingy is a bit hard to learn, and it should've been ported to PC, but, eh, this is next-gen tech we got here, there will NEVER be a game like Dreams.
The game is very boring. I quit the game in the first hours because of mediocre puzzles, boring dialogue and the extreme slowness of the character, YOU'RE A PROFESSIONAL DIVER, HOW ARE YOU SO SLOW? Nothing in the game really engaged me, I tried keeping on playing like "Oh, it's just a tutorial, right?". but nah.
Good. enough I like they kept the original's charm, and fortunately didn't replace any cutscenes and lines. Everything else is essentially the same, but the controls have been improved, they added a map (which isn't really accurate, but ok), and made the camera a BIT better. However, the game lacks a lot in lighting, it feels like it's all lighten up or I disabled lighting in the settings, I know they want the PS1 vibes, but there are better ways of doing it other than neglecting visuals. A few models feel strange, like Kain's, who's eyes are... Odd. They should've improved the gameplay a bit, some puzzles are STILL just frustating. The camera is also annoying, it often goes wherever it wants, and sometimes, it just stays between Raziel and the wall, so you CAN'T SEE YOUR ENEMIES. But, it's still fun, if you leave my nitpicking aside.
An awesome party game, with exciting power-ups. Each arena feels unique, with own features. You can play with up to... I think 6-8 players, or with bots, now, I don't play games with my friends, we don't talk much on-line, so this is pretty good, you can change the bot's level of intellect with difficulties. The game is very replayable and fun, I often find myself playing it. I haven't purchased the DLCs yet, but they look like they're worth it!
A fun, laidback game, with platforming, clever puzzles and RPG. It has a very original concept and fun story, with characters that are... Actually well-developed!I have my issues with the game, it's too handheldy, and the final chapter is very buggy, I nearly got stuck in two parts of it, an example of a bug I found: On a specific area, Minibeard's dialogue is cut in half, literally, the speech bubble is cut, like there's a sprite above it.
A wonderful platformer. Good enough plot, amazing songs, extremely fun gameplay, and a wonderful addition of cameos that leaves you thinking "Will my fav PlayStation character appear now??". The gatchas are worth it, the animations for the bots are wonderful.I agree that it deserves GOTY. People have been **** on it just because it's a Sony game in 2024, a year where Sony is hated, and because it's "for kids" and a platformer, when they didn't even play this game.
While I can see why people don't like it, I enjoyed the game. The rhythm isn't really necessary, it takes a backseat and really only matters for achievements, you can just scroll out of the scenario and the level's done. It's a fun sandbox, with additional fun secrets and challenges for the sake of platinum. I like the fact you can spawn food, and the extra abilities. For critiques, I think the buttons feel janky, and off. The magic and extra abilities are fun, but they're a bit annoying the use. The game also lacks tutorials and is VERY confusing, so I know it deserves a bit of rage.Overall, wouldn't buy it, I got it with PS Plus. But if you want an original, chaotic sandbox, than this is the game for you.
Tearaway Unfolded is a wonderful and fun expansion of the original. It keeps the original's essence, and the new additions are clever and are just as good, or maybe even better than the original's levels. The challenges are frustatingly fun, too.I really like the creative segments, where you draw and put stickers on characters, and how these actually affect the world around you. The ending nearly made me cry, sure maybe I'm just too sensitive. Still, it's an experience worth your time.
LocoRoco is a great game. It mixes platforming with music. It is very unique, the songs are catchy, the platforming is well-made and completely different from other games, the secrets are spread well and cleverly. The characters are likeable, each with their unique voice and song style, the Moojas are fun, but threatening. Just a wonderful experience from start to end.
