This impulse to decenter heroes and destabilize epiphanies is what elevates “Reservation Dogs” and makes it one of the best dramedies around. .... The series is quietly confident. It doesn’t need you to think it’s smart. But it is. And for all its skepticism about the ways Native American “wisdom” has been fetishized, marketed and misused, “Reservation Dogs” is ending its too-short run as impish and funny as it is sad and — I’ll say it — wise.

Season 2 of Reservation Dogs offers up a vision all its own that feels more unclassifiable. What makes this all work is how the rich characters are interwoven into everything, drawing us deeper into what is both a gorgeous and tragic tapestry of their lives that are still unfolding before us.

Best series no one is talking about. Sad to see it go, but it went out solid. Definitely a must watch.

The regular cast of newcomer teenagers is the best since The Wire, and they share scenes with basically every living great Native actor, all of whom are generously filled out as characters. The writing was a little uneven in Seasons 1 and 2 but in Season 3 it is uniformly great.

It's too early to say goodbye to this little marvel of a show; there will be plenty of time for tears in September when the final season wraps. Reservation Dogs is happening now, and it's a blessing.

While the choice to separate the gang futzes with the show's sense of momentum—Lane Farmer’s Cheese is sorely underrepresented in the front half of this season—it makes room for deeper, more personal character stories in each episode. It’s a dramatic shift from the ensemble antics that made “Reservation Dogs” such a standout in its freshman year, and it's proof that the show, like its central characters, is still growing and changing.

For all of the mourning this season, it also carries an assurance as the creative team and actors inhabit their roles and the world they’ve created. The humor may take a backseat, but it’s in service of more complex storytelling. The Reservation Dogs may not know who they are yet, but this show certainly does.

After the first two episode, we want to see these kids get that money and leave, even though we know that’s not likely to happen. Even if they steal everything in sight, Harjo and Waititi have seen to it that we quickly want to root for them to steal even more, even though we know we shouldn’t. That’s a pretty damn good sign.

The writing is smart and can be funny but the desire to be offbeat makes it feel too forced (a pair of rapping twins in particular). Despite its throwback references, the script feels very specific to now.

A perfect 10 from Waititi. Sure, the What We Do In the Shadows has some good laughs and I'd even give it a great 8. But not only do we get laughs with this well plotted series, we get a glimpse into a world unadulterated and far from watered down-for white audiences. It's mostly laughs, but on occasion this series can give you a gut-punch of brutal truth, with fantastic cameos, and young actors that just make acting look so dang easy. This is a perfect series.

A heartwarming modern take on friendship, family, love, and loss. The characters are drawn well with depth, flaws, and room to grow. The cinematography and music are dope. One of the best shows to come out in a while.

Great acting, cinematography and production! I love the ancestor warrior, he is hilarious and brings that mysticism that intrigues and expands the boundaries of this world - kinda like Twin Peaks, Fargo or Atlanta. Plots are great, equal parts comedy and drama while dealing with various timely issues like mental health, 420, socioeconomic inequality and domestic difficulties. Acting is top notch across the board - not over the top, real chill like casual interactions you'd have with your friends. The music is _the bomb_, can't tell you how many songs I've added to my streaming favorites after being reintroduced to them.If you like Atlanta (and I do), you'll love this show! I wouldn't throw around 10 ratings wildly, but this is already in as one of my top 10 favorite series of all time.

Absolutely love this show. It has laughs, love, lessons and a great scope of insight not ever before seen where Native life is concerned. It shows the reality of resiliency found in the people and the way they retain culture and custom in tedious times, and yet wish to achieve dreams of something different while still realizing how very important their core roots are. Each character has a depth that you see unfold in each episode to draft a complete unity between them while showing their individual struggles with similar experiences. It's a great series, and I found myself laughing, crying, and hoping for each of them in so many ways.

Funny. Fresh voices. Deep characters. Range of styles. Exploring people and parts of America most don't pay attention to with care and respect. Strikes an excellent balance of easy to watch while still digging down and wrestling with some serious themes.
