There are so many background jokes and one-liners and silly animals that the show's emotional depth caught me by surprise.
BoJack is perhaps a little more clever than it is uproariously funny, but it is often very clever, and, moreover, well-tuned to the ludicrousness of the sort of low-level fame that surrounds BoJack.

It is not something that can be explained, it is really bittersweet and shows pain in such an amazing way, all the characters are incredibly written, and it is funny too.

SEASON 1A strange and somewhat delightful animated comedy.
Even with its inventive setting and all-star cast, there’s not enough reason to stick with BoJack Horseman through the first six episodes.
Oddly enough, although the dialogue is rarely funny, the show is rife with background details suggesting how much potential is wasted here.
In parodying the celebrity life, Bob-Waksberg only occasionally hits the mark.
[A] bizarre, Seth MacFarlane-like show that seems to have stemmed from a trippy night on ‘shrooms. In the words of Nancy Reagan, just say no.
Humor negro, irónico, sarcástico nada exagerado, siempre bien planteado y al mismo tiempo tan realista. Los personajes están muy bien desarrollados y hace que te importe que les pasa. Hay una evolución con cada uno de los personajes a través de los capítulos lo cual te engancha.

SEASON 1I've seen a good few negative reviews of BoJack Horseman, from critics and viewers, and I can certainly see why anyone that stopped watching after one or two episodes would hold those views as the show doesn't start all that strongly.After a slow start however things do start to pick up. The continuity from episode to episode really helps build momentum, adding a bit more depth to proceedings than many other animated series, as well as allowing for some funny 'Arrested Development' style running jokes. The strong voice cast (that includes Will Arnett, Allison Brie and Aaron Paul) helps make the best of the script meaning that, even though it doesn't often threaten to reach the heights of shows such as The Simpsons or Archer at their best, BoJack Horseman does enough during this debut season for me to want to watch the confirmed second season.

SEASON 1Just for context, I watched the first season of this show. Each season is 12 episodes long and, each episode is 25 minutes long. That totals to 5 hours of content so, I think it's perfectly fair for me to say, I don't want to watch another episode of it. The first 7 episodes were family guy levels of bad with constant cut aways and, over all bullcrap that just killed the pacing. It didn't come off as clever in the slightest and, was repetitive with no emotional weight to anything. It's just a bunch of flat characters being flat. I mean you understand who they are but, they might as well be cardboard cut outs like in episode 7. So, yeah, that good. It got better by a margin as the show went on but, overall this was just nothing special.

SEASON 1If you have seen any dumb animated comedy series that only lasted 1 season then you have seen BoJack Horseman. Despite its stellar cast of comic actors, its just the same dumb jokes you have heard in every other adult animated comedy.

SEASON 1The only real strength of Bojack Horseman is impeccable casting. Aside from that, it's a highly overrated show. I just can't believe how much people fail to realize that this is nothing more than a circlejerk of Hollywood snubbery at its worst. The whole show relies on (inaccurate) criticisms of sitcoms and our culture in general. Please, any show that thinks MSNBC is right-leaning ought to have its writing staff euthanized. Furthermore, it fails to be anything beyond simply depressing. The character arc of Bojack is really just a ripoff of the later seasons of House, M.D. I only kept watching for Todd's side adventures. They make the rest of this drivel somehow not completely unbearable.
