The only bum note is the music itself, despite the presence of prestige pop stars including Justin Timberlake, Kelly Clarkson and Mary J Blige.
Despite falling for some classic sequel potholes, Trolls World Tour continues the fun energy of its predecessor in a way that should provide some quarantine relief for families.

I thought this movie was extremely entertaining. Loved the music as usual.

Trolls World Tour isn’t a great movie, but it’s not an awful one, either — and maybe most importantly, it’s a new movie, one you can watch right now without leaving your house.
In a world where the clouds are puffy, the script is fluffy and the funk is funky, it’s easy to stomach all the glitter a second time around. If you do decide to rent this via VOD, now that DreamWorks Animation has broken the theatrical window, you will likely be in harmony with kaleidoscopic visuals, not to mention a bunch of greatest hits the whole family can enjoy.
At its best, the film doesn’t just privilege altered states of consciousness, it is an altered state of consciousness.
Kendrick and Timberlake are…fine, as they were in the first film. What holds Trolls World Tour back is what holds back so many films from DreamWorks Animation: they thrive on pop-culture references, loud humor, and little else.
A movie with the power to freeze the mind and make anyone watching just want to stagger away mumbling nothing but “This is awful,” over and over, until the pain goes away.

This trolls movie is simplistic in it's format with no surprises, maybe one surprise. Overall, it does not stand up against it's predecessor. From an adult perspective, the movie contains too much singing and fast plot development. I wouldn't say it was terrible like other reviews suggest. The cinematography, art-style and colors are vivid. Worth a watch, not a rent or buy.
