The new production, computer-animated except for a living, breathing boy at the center of the action, isn’t pretty or sweet but utterly stunning, as well as very funny; all those vaudeville antecedents haven’t been forgotten.

Greetings from Lithuania."The Jungle Book" (2016) is definitely the most visually stunning movie I've seen in a while, very long while back in 2016. The story is simple yet good, script is very good, but the true star of this movie was in its craftsmanship. What a feast for the eyes! Can't believe it was shoot at the studio, not in the jungle. Back in 2012 we were stunned by the tiger in "Life of Pi" - the jaw dropping creation of special effects team. In "The Jungle Book" you will see the same level special effects in almost every scene - these animal are as stunningly real as it gets. This is by far the best looking film of 2016. If this one won't win Oscar for best special effects, where won't be justice. Jon Favreau's direction is superb - at running time 1 h 40 min. this movie never drags and is a joy for all its running time. Voice performances were absolutely top notch by single everyone of them, especially by Bill Murray who kills it as Baloo. Overall, "The Jungle Book" is by far one of the best entertainments of 2016 so far. So many disappointing big summer movies, but leave it to Jon Favreau and special effects wizards to create something marvelous, what "The Jungle Book" truly is.

I love the 2016 jungle book it's so good I love the dude who played shere Khan and I love that star Johansson play kaa she did such a good job I hope to see her in the sequel I just love Scarlett Johansson has Black widow has kaa and has King Neptune's daughter from the SpongeBob SquarePants movies

The Jungle Book could use better lighting and less of John Debney's musical score insisting each moment be melodically underlined twice. Still, it's a movie to thrill and perhaps inspire kids to play Mowgli games again. Not outside, of course. Now there's an app for that.

For pure spectacle alone this film is well worth the ticket price. Its visuals are so undeniably convincing and intricate that the sheer wonder of how they achieved any of this will be enough to distract — from the story’s missteps and even the film itself.

Jon Favreau draws heavily on his film's animated predecessor for plot, characterizations, and more, but doesn't know how to fit these familiar elements into his own coherent vision.

What a well made Disney movie, Jon.F just knows his CG and animation. I watched this movie with no expectations and just loved it. It was great that they chose an unknown to play the main character. The voice overs were fantastic, great casting. He stuck to the original story but it is still magical. Must watch, I will watch it again. It’s that well done.

The incredible visuals are so arresting here it is an amazing reminder of how far CGI has progressed in feature films.... Sadly this wasnt enough to move me as the screenplay editing and pacing felt decidedly average and the weaker rehashes of the classic original songs bare necessities and jungle vip stood out from the rest of the picture. So ultimately I just didnt feel anything for mowgli or his animal friends. Scenes just played out in sequence with little for me to care for. It felt like this was a missed opportunity as the cast are superb and under utilised (with the exception of Elba!).

Decent live action film with amazing visuals that cannot get past **** plot with not much thought. A good version? Yes. Oscars and awards talk? How? When? Hmm no. It isn´t anywhere as good as to deserve such thing. Watch for the visuals and the kids will love it. But there´s no more to it. Nothing deeper or with special artistic value.

AS soon as I found out that the actor for Mowgli is so bad at acting, I couldn't focus on anything, and I don't think there is anything I enjoyed. It is true that those voices were great, but it wasn't the perfect casting. Also the ending was completely from The Lion King.

This movie has a mostly great cast, that it completely wastes. The film somewhat mercifully, considering the quality of the ones still in there, sheds most musical portions morphing into a poorly done adventure film.
