The characters are well-defined and Rockwell holds the picture together as he conveys Mr. Wolf’s shifting emotional states: suave, vexed and morally conflicted. Kids will love The Bad Guys and there’s plenty of substance for adults as well.

Even when The Bad Guys resembles other movies, it’s stealing from them gracefully, with its own sensibility and energy.

The movie’s narrative twists are neither surprising nor interesting and the emotional weight of the story and characters is feather-light. It is, however, engaging in a disposable fashion, offering occasionally entertaining instances (such as the aforementioned Tarantino homage) and an animation style that seems less plastic than many of today’s generic offerings.

Diverting as it may be, The Bad Guys is the sort of movie that’s missing a big heart and, at times, feels like they’re having more fun in the ADR booth than we are watching it on screen.

The Bad Guys will work better for kids than adults: the comedy is broad, with farting not just a major source of laughs but an entire plot device, and the characters aren’t quite as lovable as the movie thinks they are, despite a winning voice cast that also boasts Marc Maron, Zazie Beetz and Awkwafina.

Will keep the kids entertained for about an hour and a half. It's watchable for adults but isn't anything all that special. It's not up there with the greats that can be enjoyed by both children and adults like Toy Story or Shrek.

love the animation and most of the characters. but the plot was everywhere and honestly? boring, didn't even finish the last 10 minuets cause it was so boring...

had to watch that with the kids, the story is on par with what is expected for kids these days (very superficial) with an opened door to sequels, animation is to the current "standards", but there is this unhealthy dose of misandry which leaves an unpleasant aftertaste.
