While the first Children of the Corn was made on a reported budget of $800,000, it somehow doesn’t look as cheap as this new Children of the Corn, which eventually delivers just enough formulaic violence.

While it isn’t the worst film the franchise has to offer, that’s only because the competition is so weak.

A perfect movie to enjoy for horror fans. It knows what it is and it knows who's the target audience.

The children are precocious Disney channel reject drama brats. So I didn’t like the casting. The acting isn’t bad though, maybe a little overacted, especially from Kate Moyer and Bruce Spence. Elena Kampouris is actually captivating. As an origin backstory it’s interesting but it lacks grittiness, far too polished. There is high production quality with low creativity. Compare it to Weapons (2025) which has high production quality but has a raw gritty horror feel. The message is muddled, something about corporate greed, I don’t know. It’s not the worst in the franchise but very flawed. There is failed logic and motivation throughout. They tried really hard and fell the furthest because it is the least creative and so generic. I have to give them credit for actually showing he who walks (behind the rows) even if he looked better in my imagination and in Children of the Corn III: Urban Harvest (1995). I blame the producers and director.

There’s no reason a movie with this premise couldn’t be better. Just not in these folks’ hands.

This “Corn” sat on the shelf during COVID lockdown, but we can’t say it went stale during the delay. This was cynical in conception and rotten in execution long before the masks came out.

Like a virus that keeps coming back but growing weaker each time, Children of the Corn is now a horror movie that lacks the strength to infect you with even a speck of fear.

There’s something particularly galling about the laziness of this one — its flimsy gestures toward topicality, the piecemeal nature of the whole thing — that makes its failures acutely horrifying.

Wimmer has now twice disproved his ability to rehash old scripts through his terrible updatings of Total Recall and Point Break. Now he exhibits zero visual skill as writer/director of Children of the Corn, an unwatchable reboot of Stephen King's 1977 short story about a blood cult of rural Nebraskan kids who slaughter all adults to the monstrous He Who Walks Behind the Rows.

An awful film, plot and quality wise. Paramount Plus should be ashamed. I'm not sure who wanted a remake to the children of the corn since it was never really a smash hit back in the 80s. Nothing scary happens so it's not really a horror, it's just a film with a mad child and a monster. The CGI and the acting is terrible.

Why do we keep making these movies? They recycle the same thing and progressively get worse and worse. This one is a poorly acted, low-budget mess that clearly does not understand the source material.

Unbelievably bad. I feel bad for the kids in it because I'm sure they tried their best with what they were given. The faults lie in the writing, directing and production.

The original Children of the Corn was probably one of the weaker 80s horror movies. Once you got past the creepy kids there really wasn't much to it. But, they still churned out a host of sequels with various degrees of terribleness. Of all the classic horror movies out there, Children of the Corn least needed more than 1. But yet here we are with yet another one and I don't know where in the scale of badness it rates. But it shouldn't exist.I don't know who I'm more angry with. The people who made it or myself for watching the thing in the first place. I knew what I was getting myself into and still I watched it. And I foolishly watched the whole thing in some misguided belief that maybe, maybe this one will get better. But it never does. It just never does.
