Blue Prince at first seemed like a very simple game, the mechanics aren’t exciting, and overall it’s kind of slow. But then you realize how incredibly in-depth it is, realize the value of inspecting everything, and enjoy building up for the perfect run. It’s unique and challenging if you don’t google all the answers.
Blue Prince takes the roguelike formula, throws in DIY architecture, and manages to combine them to form a pretty impressive tale of intrigue and a very fun puzzler. The simple mechanics make a complex whole with great puzzles and reason to play run after run!
Like its sprawling mansion, Blue Prince is loaded with secrets, beautifully organic puzzles and hidden emotional depth, making each run a mysterious treat.
Amazing experience the first few days I played it but then it becomes frustrating due to the RNG of the rogue like system, hours and hours of resets just to get the pefect draft to progress it's not good. Balatro/Hades2 the choices you make it feels rewarding, on Blue prince end game there is barely any "skill" factor and it's very annoying. It does feel very incomplete towards the end stuff, specially the ending that is really bad, it's not rewarding after everything you have done and it's clearly unfinished...It's annoying because the first days I played this I would rate it one of the best games I played but the "end game" disappointed me a lot, still think it's a very good game and easily one of the best puzzle games but it just tapers off miserably lore and puzzle wise
A roguelike puzzle game - we've lived long enough to see that day; because it seems every piece of interactive media must have a Skinner box in it!Blue Prince is the first game that I dropped, not because I'm stuck and don't know what to do, but because knowing full well what I should do, the game prevents me from achieving it by some arbitrary RNG in my way, and honestly, at this point I dread going back to it, wasting hours, rolling rooms until they are in the right order. It's frustrating and sad, because the puzzles in the game are interesting and well-designed and would serve much better an honest puzzle game instead of this genre defying mess.
I would have preferred a setting that better justified the shifting house, such as fantasy or horror. Disliked not being able to save and quit halfway through the run.
Summary Welcome to Mt. Holly, where every dawn unveils a new mystery. Navigate through shifting corridors and ever-changing chambers in this genre-defying strategy puzzle adventure. But will your unpredictable path lead you to the rumored Room 46?
