With millions of followers listening to his podcast and following his every move on social media, Joe Rogan's voice holds weight. And with the 2020 presidential primaries rapidly approaching (the Iowa Caucuses are on February 3rd), it's clearly something he's thought about a lot and made his mind up on—saying in a recent episode of theJoe Rogan Experiencethat he would probably be voting for Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.

The popular podcast host was speaking withNew York Timescolumnist Bari Weiss, who asked who he would most likely be voting for in the primary. "I think I'll probably vote for Bernie," Rogan said after contemplating for just a moment. With more than 7 million subscribers to his YouTube channel and the consistently most downloaded podcast, Rogan has a huge following—his endorsement holds considerable weight.

Sanders has previously been a guest onRogan's hugely popular and very lucrative podcast, and Rogan also recently told his friend, fellow comedian Jimmy Dore, that other candidates—"Biden, Warren, Mayor Pete"—have all requested to join him on the podcast, but that he'd prefer to talk on-air to his friends. In addition to Sanders, he's also hosted businessman Andrew Yang and Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard (who's appeared on his show three times).

Before telling Weiss that Bernie was his probable choice in the primary, he told Dore that as of right now, he held two candidates above the rest of the fray. “I like Tulsi and I like Bernie, that’s it," he said. "Everybody else can eat shit.” He also said that despite what some think, he's not the conservative that some might believe he is. "I've never voted right wing in my life," he said.

Rogan was speaking off the cuff here, but given how candidly he's spoken about politics, it feels pretty likely that's the way he's heavily leaning. He doesn't necessarily feel like the type to make an official endorsement, so his conversational statements like the ones here feel like the closest thing that his fans will get to something like that.
