TheZok Troops are an evil organization led byZokket that serve as the main antagonistic faction ofMario & Luigi: Brothership. The majority of the members are robots that were created by Zokket by repurposing and rebuilding junk. They were given the ability to speak solely to be able to cooperate and help with communications, often replacing the letter S with the letter Z when they speak in imitation of electric currents. Their name is a pun on "shock troops" and the first syllable of Zokket's name. Zokket cares very little for his minions, finding it “absurd” to see them speak to the point where he considers them “ephemeral things” that will have no place in the world onceReclusa is reborn. ThroughoutConcordia, the Zok Troops infect many residents withGlohm which causes them to desire loneliness. The Zok Troops are also in conflict withBowser's Minions during the game, being engaged in aerial warfare with them; while Bowser and his underlings merely seek to bring Concordia under their control, the Zok Troops seek to outright destroy Concordia.
Mario and Luigi fight the Zok Troopers frequently throughout the game. Zok Troopers take critical damage if the Anti-Zokket SpecialistBattle Plug is equipped, and defeating 250 total Zok Troopers fulfills the Zokket Busterchallenge.
Weeping Troopers, which are Reclusa's minions, contain 3 Zok Troopers within them; a Spike, Zokkarang and Jet Zok Trooper and use their abilities. When a Weeping Trooper is defeated, the contained Zok Troopers flee the battle. If the Bros. took enough damage, the Zokkarang Trooper will throw them a mushroom before running off.
