| The Thousand-Year Door description | Blasting powder made by Zess T. Toss it to attack all foes. |
AZess Dynamite is a fooditem inPaper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. It appears to be a berry cake in a baking-tin with dynamite sticks stuck into it. The player can learn about this recipe fromWonky atHerb T.'s place down belowRogueport for a fewcoins. The selling price for the Zess Dynamite is 30 coins in all shops except forDeepdown Depot, reduced to 20 coins in international releases.
To make a portion of Zess Dynamite, the player needs aMystic Egg fromBoggly Woods, aCoconut fromKeelhaul Key and twoFire Flowers from one of the shops. Bringing those items toZess T. results in anEgg Bomb and aCoconut Bomb. These two items can be combined further into Zess Dynamite. Additionally, a Zess Dynamite can be obtained as the grand prize ofHappy Lucky Lottery if the player wins more than once per save.
Zess Dynamite is an attack item, and can only be used in battle. When thrown at enemies, it summons a ghostly image of a fierce-looking Zess T. to the battlefield, which then causes a massive explosion. The explosion affects all enemies and deals 7 points of damage to them, making Zess Dynamite one of the most powerful attack items in the game. Due to being explosive-typed damage, any weaknesses apply, such asBulky Bob-ombs (andBob-ulks) exploding and theLavaBubblefamily taking +1 damage.
InSuper Paper Mario, a similar item called theDyllis Dynamite appears.Dyllis fromFlopside makes this.
