TheYoshi Hut is a building onCraft Island inYoshi's Woolly World andPoochy & Yoshi's Woolly World. It is green, and the roof has white spots. The roof has pins sticking out from the top like a pincushion, and is fastened to the rest of the hut by a rubber band. The Yoshi Hut allows the player to function is to select aYoshi out of all the Yoshis they have reknitted to play as without having to locate them in the game world. Its menu is depicted as a table with a green and white stripes pattern on the top. Most Yoshis are sorted in groups of six by the world they are reknitted in, organized by level. The first group is for the primary colored Yoshis and White Yoshi that the player starts the game with or reknits by completingKing Bowser's Castle. The last group is for the Yoshis reknitted by completing theBoss Tent andWonderful World of Wool on Craft Island. When the player moves the cursor or the menu to another group, instead of scrolling the screen the outgoing group walks off the screen and the incoming group walks on the screen. Non-reknitted Yoshis, excluding the primary colored ones, are represented by a question mark on a stand which appears to have been formed from a paper clip.
Additionally, the player can save a design to aYarn Yoshiamiibo. When doing so, they can change the colors of any reknitted Yoshi from the worlds of the game into one of two alternate versions.
Theamiibo Hut is a similar building that contains the Yoshis that have been unlocked by scanning compatible amiibo and the most recent pattern saved to a Yarn Yoshi amiibo used in the game.
InPoochy & Yoshi's Woolly World, the Yoshi Hut is similar to the original game. It is now divided into three rooms:Reknitted Yoshis is a room duplicating the original game's functionality. It has an additional role as the primary colored Yoshis and the Yoshis of the Boss Tent other than the most recent Yoshi unlocked there can only be found within the Yoshi Hut. The player can now change any of the reknited Yoshi to one of the alternate colors exclusive to the Yarn Yoshi amiibo. However, the effects only last until the Yoshi Hut is exited unless the player is playing as the Yoshi in question.Craft Yoshi is a room that contain up to 10 Yoshis custom designed by the player. It replaces the green in Reknitted Yoshis with orange. Empty slots are represented by the question mark on a stand. One design can be distributed to other players using the StreetPass functions onNintendo 3DS.Streetpass Yoshi contains Yoshis received from StreetPass. It replaces the green in Reknitted Yoshis with blue.
