Yoob's Belly is a sub-location ofYoshi's Island inMario & Luigi: Partners in Time. It is accessed after the Mario Bros. beatKamek, whereYoob is enlarged byShroob saucers and eats the Mario Bros. andBaby Bowser. The boss of this area isSunnycide. Yoob's Belly has a factory inside of itself, which traps Yoshis ineggs. This is implied to transform them into other Yoobs if they are not freed in time.

Layout[edit]

The first section of Yoob's Belly consists of a main room branching off into five other rooms. The main room also has protrusions that the babies brothers can be thrown into. One of these protrusions contains a fruit which must be given to the yellow Yoshi. The left-most room contains a red Yoshi trapped by anRC Shroober which must be fought. The second room from the left contains two spots that change colors when hit by ahammer. When those spots match the colored spheres on the wall, an opening appears. The baby brothers must useBaby Drill to pass underneath. The following room has sixteen of the colored spots which must be matched with the spheres in the other room to free the blue Yoshi. The middle room contains aSave Album and many enemies. The fourth room from the left contains many spikes and a trampoline that the baby brothers can use. Taking the trampoline takes them to a room with five holes. The baby brothers must drop down the middle hole to reach the pink Yoshi. Hammering the spot nearby forms platforms above the spikes, freeing the pink Yoshi. The right-most room contains a cyan Yoshi being attacked by an RC Shroober. Baby Drill must be used to reach an adjacent room that contains a pump. Baby Mario must useBaby Pump to hit the RC Shroober's Shroob saucer. Doing so blows up half the wall, allowing the brothers to fight the RC Shroober. Saving these Yoshis allows them to push the Chomp Rock, opening the path ahead. Going down the newly formed path leads to aWarp Pipe.

Taking the Warp Pipe takes the brothers to the second section of Yoob's Belly. The first room contains many enemies. The second room contains two eggs containing Yoshis which must be smashed open by hitting the blocks they are in and pushing them into a wall with Baby Pump. Doing so allows the Yoshis to push the Chomp Rock blocking the way. The third room contains more enemies and branches into two rooms. The bottom room contains Yoshis that give the brothers items if they are spoken to and a4-Bros. Random Block. The top room must be opened by pressing a4-Person Panel. In this room, Toadbert explains he lost his memory and gives the brothers his drawing. The penultimate room contains another Save Album. The final room contains Sunnyside and beating it opens the exit.

The group can go back into Yoob's Belly anytime in the game by going up the mountaintop, though once they get inside, they will have to exit through the passage in order to get back on Yoshi's Island.

Beanholes[edit]

First area: After using the trampoline from the intestine-like room, the player should go west and slightly south to see 4 beanholes.
First area: In the same room, after collecting the previous beans, player should go north and then slightly east after the "tree stump". There are another 4 beanholes there.
First area: In the same room, after collecting beans, the player should continue east and then a little south after the "tree stump". Another 4 beanholes await here.
First area: In the same room, after collecting beans, the player should head south and the last 3 beanholes of this scene will show up.
First area: After collecting all 15 beans from the biggest room in the area, the player should go to the east room (from the last position it should be northeast of the Bros.). In this room, the lone beanhole is in the northeast corner. To get to it, the player should use the Baby Drill to drill into baby-only section, have Baby Mario use the Baby Pump and Baby Luigi to whack him to shot the Shroob UFO in the main section of the room, return to the adults and defeat the RC Shroober. The way to the beanhole will then be clear.
First area: The player should go back to the big room, take few steps west and then head north into the northeast room, where the player should have the babies use the trampoline and then jump into the hole in the northeast corner. Babies will fall next to the beanhole.
First area: The player should go back to the big room, head west and then north to get to the north room and there head west too. The beanhole is found next to a wall.
First area: The player should go back to the big room, head west and then north to get to the northwest room, then head north to the colored buttons. The player should whack the buttons correctly to unlock a baby-only section, where the babies whack all the buttons correctly (with the help of the adults on the other screen) to open a closed off "prison like section". The player should go back with the babies to the main section and then to the "prison-like" one and the beanhole is in the northwest corner of this section.
First area: The player should go back to the big room, head south and then west to the west room, where the Bros. will be attacked by the RC Shroober. After defeating it, the player should go into the southwest corner of the room. Another beanhole is waiting there.
Second area: At the end of the fourth room, there are 2 doors: the north and the south one. The player should go into the south one and then continue south to find the beanhole.
Second area: In the same room, the player should head northwest and then southwest to find a Blue and Yellow Yoshis. Between them lies one beanhole.
Second area: After entering the second-to-last room, the beanhole is seen to the right.

Notes[edit]

• If the Baby Mario Bros.dig underground while inYoob's Belly, and when theChomp Rock is rolled through his insides, the player can see the Yoob wincing in pain on the Top Screen. This will no longer happen after Sunnycide is defeated.
• While the Mario Bros. are inside Yoob's Belly, Yoob can be seen scratching his lower jaw on the top screen, even though he is actually holding on to one side of the mountain. This no longer happens after Sunnycide is defeated.
• In the North American version, therecovery block is located in the main room of the first area of Yoob's Belly. In other versions, the recovery block is located in the north.
