Yellow Magikoopas (abbreviated asY Magikoopa inPaper Mario) are yellow-robedMagikoopas that primarily appear in theSuper Mario role-playing games.

History[edit]

Paper Mario[edit]

InPaper Mario, Yellow Magikoopas canelectrify their allies, making them immune to direct attacks. In addition to wearing yellow robes, they are depicted having blue shoes, with blue jewels for theirmagic wands.

In battle, Yellow Magikoopas can electrify one of their allies at a time, but otherwise fire a magic blast or strikeMario with their magic wand, both attacks dealing three points of damage. Sometimes Yellow Magikoopas ride brooms, but this does not affect their stats in any way, excepthammer attacks will miss. When alone, theyflee from battle.

Yellow Magikoopas appear inFlower Fields and theCrystal Palace, but like other types of Magikoopa, are never found outside of battle. A Yellow Magikoopa along with threeLakitus acts as a mid-boss of Flower Fields, thus the player has to defeat them since they are keeping Mario from destroying thePuff Puff Machine.

InPaper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, their abilities are given toGreen Magikoopas.

InMario Superstar Baseball, a Yellow Magikoopa can be chosen as an alternate costume of a Magikoopa. This returns inMario Super Sluggers andMario Sports Superstars.

Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition[edit]

Yellow Magikoopas appear inPuzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition as Light-attribute enemies, found primarily in the towers ofWorld 8, first appearing inWorld 8-Tower 1.

As an enemy, a Yellow Magikoopa attacks by firing a blast of electricity at the screen, inflicting Light damage to the player's team. Their Skill,Light Trick, changes all Dark and Heart Orbs on the Orb field into Light Orbs. When defeated, it may occasionally drop a largeCoin worth 100 coins or aGrand Light Block of itself. It will always drop aSpiky Shell when defeated with a 10+ Combo attack.

Yellow Magikoopas can be found inWorld 8-Tower 1,World 8-Tower 2 (as part of the boss battle with the four other Magikoopa types),World 8-Tower 3, andWorld 8-Bowser's Castle.

As teammates, Yellow Magikoopas have an HP rating of 5/6, an ATK rating of 5/6, and a RCV rating of 1/6. Their Max Lv. is 99. Their Light Trick Skill functions the same as it does when they appear as enemies. Yellow Magikoopas use Spiky Shells andGrand Spiky Shells to raise their Skill levels. Yellow Magikoopas may giveRCV+ bonuses to other teammates when being depowered. Their Awoken Skill,Skill Boost, reduces the amount of turns required to first use Skills when entering a course.

Other forms[edit]

Inversion 2.0 ofPuzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition, the player can transform a Yellow Magikoopa into three other forms in which another Magikoopa accompanies it:Yellow/Green Magikoopas,Yellow Magikoopas, andYellow/Purple Magikoopas. All three forms share the same Skill and Skill Item requirements, and have an HP rating of 5/6, an ATK rating of 5/6, and an RCV rating of 1/6 (with the exception of Yellow/Green Magikoopas, which has an RCV rating of 2/6).
