Wire Net Platforms,[1] also referred to aswired platforms,[2]grated platforms,[3] orgratings,[4] arelifts found inlava-themed areas of theSuper Mario series. The platforms are made ofChain-Link thatLava Geysers andflames can penetrate through. Some are fastened totracks that directly bring them lava.

Super Mario 64 /Super Mario 64 DS[edit]
Wire Net Platforms, here referred to as wired platforms, debuted inSuper Mario 64. They occur in the lava-themed coursesLethal Lava Land andBowser in the Fire Sea. Wired platforms move along predetermined paths or are physically fastened to tracks that make them dip into lava. In Lethal Lava Land, wired platforms interconnect some of the islands in the lava sea and one in particular is necessary to complete the missionRed-Hot Log Rolling. In Bowser in the Fire Sea, a tracked wired platform is required to navigate the course, but it moves through fiery hazards that burn Mario on contact. It is the only available footing for part of the course. Wired platforms reappear inSuper Mario 64 DS unaltered.
Super Mario 3D World /Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury[edit]
InSuper Mario 3D World and itsNintendo Switch port, Wire Net Platforms occur in theSimmering Lava Lake.Lava Geysers rise through them, and one conceals the level's collectibleStamp.
Super Mario Odyssey[edit]
Wire Net Platforms occur in theLuncheon Kingdom inSuper Mario Odyssey. They are rectangular latticeplatforms that float abovelava. Unlike other enemies,Lava Bubbles can pass through grated platforms, including whenMariocaptures one.
A moving blue variant also appears in two sub-areas of the kingdom,Volcano Cave andLava Islands. This variant is bigger than the normal grated platforms.
