Whale Course^[1] is the third and final level of theTurtle Zone inSuper Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins. This level takes place inside awhale. Theoctopus is fought at the end of this level.

Layout[edit]

At the start of the level are two large ribs aboveMario, then twoAqua Goombas and somecoins surrounded by bumps. Next is a long sparkly platformMario is able to swim and fall through, similar to thesap fromIn the Trees. Mario can use it to reach coins and a? Block containing aCarrot, though there are more sharp ribs underneath. After this are a few more bumps as well as ribs which move up and down, hurting Mario if touched. After another Aqua Goomba are more platforms Mario can fall and swim through. In this area, there is aPara-Goomba and coins underneath between ribs. TheMid-Point Bell comes just after this.

After the checkpoint are six ? Blocks, two Aqua Goombas, two large ribs above, and a pool of water underneath with aHonebon in it. There are then a few more Aqua Goombas as well asKoopa Troopas, with ribs in the middle with coins between them. There is then a large pool of water with another Honebon in it. There are ribs both above and underneath, as well as coins, a ? Block, and aHidden Block which contains aMoneybag. Finally, there is a Para-Goomba, a Koopa Troopa, and thepipe which takes Mario to the battle withoctopus.
