Weapon World
- “Doyou know where this leads to? It looks likeExor's the contact between the two worlds. In other words... If we follow this road, we'll find Smithy.”
- —Geno,Super Mario RPG (Nintendo Switch)
TheWeapon World, originally theGate area[1] and called theFactory by the menu map andSave Blocks andSmithy Factory by thePlayer's Guide,[2] is a gloomy world whereSmithy and his cohorts reside inSuper Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars andits Nintendo Switch remake, acting as the entryway between theFactory itself andBowser's Keep, and the final area of the game. This is accomplished throughExor, who contains said "Gate" in his mouth. The entire world is filled with dark smog and half-broken machines floating in a void. It is patrolled by the variousSmithy Gang members along with several ghosts.
For the first several rooms,Mario needs to hop acrossscrew bridges while facingGlum Reapers,Ameboids,Doppels, and on very rare occasionsHippopos. On the way, anUltra Hammer can be found. The path then leads into a fight against an enormous clock namedCount Down. After Count Down is defeated, the Gate moves onto several areas filled withconveyor belts, upon which Smithy's creations are manufactured, and the occasional graytile. In the first, the player is introduced toMachine Made versions of theAxem Rangers. In the next, highly accurateAeros come down from above and the party encounters endless lines ofJabits,Springers, and Machine MadeClaymortons andBodyguards being produced, along with the hammer-like workersMad Mallets,Pounders, andPoundettes as well asPuppoxes. Further along, the group meetsHigh Boos before encountering a series of Machine MadeBowyers traveling down two separate conveyor belt staircases, with more Machine Made Axem Rangers in between. In the next room,Ninjas patrol while a series of Machine MadeSpeardoviches land on a graybrick before leaping away. After defeating a Machine Made Speardovich, the brick explodes to open a passage deeper underground. This leads Mario and company directly to a boss battle againstCloaker,Domino and their snake — known as eitherMad Adder orBad Adder, depending on which of the bosses is left standing. Once they are defeated, the road to the Factory proper opens.
