History[edit]
Super Mario series[edit]

New Super Mario Bros. Wii[edit]
Warp Cannons look slightly different from the previous game, being more detailed and shinier, but function identically inNew Super Mario Bros. Wii. The bases now display "World" along with the corresponding world number shown below. BothWorld 1-3 andWorld 2-6 unlock the Warp Cannon toWorld 5, bothWorld 3-
Ghost House andWorld 4-
Tower unlock the Warp Cannon toWorld 6, and bothWorld 5-
Ghost House andWorld 6-6 unlock the Warp Cannon toWorld 8.
New Super Mario Bros. 2[edit]
Warp Cannons are different inNew Super Mario Bros. 2. They are now colored blue instead of black, along with their bases. Instead of being a single area with a cannon that fires into the background, Warp Cannons instead point forward. After a countdown, they launchMario orLuigi forward into a full course known as aDash Mario[4] stage that needs to be completed to arrive at the next world, with a nighttime environment reminiscent of the black backdrop at the end of levels inSuper Mario Bros. 3. The player characterdashes automatically and must jump at the right times to avoid the enemies and pits along the way. AnArrow Sign at the end pointing right serves as the goal. The character jumps as he leaves the screen and arrives in the next world. Every cannon stage has aRed Coin challenge that unlocks aGold Flower when completed. Warp Cannon stages never haveAssist Blocks, unlike other levels.
These are the courses of Warp Cannons:

Additionally, Warp Cannons appear in some of the game's DLC courses. Those courses are thethird course of theNerve-Wrack Pack and thefirst course of theGold Classics Pack. While still having the same gameplay, they do not have to use the same environment design.

Fortune Street[edit]
Cannons inFortune Street are used on theYoshi's Island,Delfino Plaza, andBowser's Castle boards to blast the player character to another square also having a character. They use a similar design to theirNew Super Mario Bros. Wii look, but with a gray-colored base.
