Vinny is the brother ofTony and a member of thePianta syndicate. Although loyal toDon Pianta, he does not always agree with his decisions. During the events ofPaper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, the mobsterFrankie and the boss's daughterFrancesca elope, causing the Don to wish vengeance against the happy couple. However, Vinny wishes for Don to be happy for Frankie and Francesca's marriage. In the end, Don Pianta reconciles with his daughter and number one thug, and gives them command of the Pianta syndicate.

Naming[edit]

Much likeRocko and Tony, Vinny's name is a stereotypical given name associated with Italian-Americans. Most other translations give the three a collective naming theme:

The Dutch, French and Spanish versions give the three traditional Italian given names;
The German version gives them Italian surnames that are also violence-themed puns;
The Italian version instead gives the three adjectival titles.
