Vine Barrels[1] are a flimsy counterpart to standardbarrels inDonkey Kong Country and itsGame Boy Advanceremake. These barrels do not have steel hoops, but rather have small green vines wrapped around them. Their only difference from regular barrels is that they break upon hitting the ground or an enemy. Vine Barrels are prominently used inBumble B. Rumble, during the boss fight againstQueen B., and also appear throughout the final level,Platform Perils, as objects the Kongs must use to hit the grayKrushas off their platforms. Vine Barrels do not appear in theGame Boy Color because normal barrels are given their properties. InDonkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, Vine Barrels are functionally replaced bycrates.
