Thrill Ride
Thrill Ride as it appears inWarioWare: Get It Together!

TheVariety Towers, known as theElephant Buildings inWarioWare: Smooth Moves, are a group of sidemodes found in theWarioWare series. They consist of three or four towers, each proposing a challenge to the player. They can be unlocked after beating the main mode or by completing a previous tower with a certain score. Most of these towers are provided to the player as an additional challenge, though inWarioWare: Get It Together!, they are visited during the story whenWario and his crew are looking forRed,Master Mantis andLulu. InWarioWare: Move It!, the backgrounds are temples, instead of towers.

Most games featuring the Variety Towers have a motif around an animal:

The intermission stage of the Variety Towers are generally the same, consisting of the inside of an elevator with the animal (or its face) on the doors, which open to reveal the microgame. If the player wins, the animal shows a happy emotion. If the player loses, the animal is angry or dazed, and a life is lost.

Gameplay[edit]

All Mixed Up[edit]

All Mixed Up (known asEasy inWarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$!,Skyscraper inWarioWare: Twisted!, andMonster Megamix inWarioWare: Touched!) is the first Variety Tower the player encounters. In this tower, the player has to play a series of microgames, increasing in speed and difficulty, like in the main game. While regular microgames appear, boss microgames do not, so it is impossible to earn lives.WarioWare: Smooth Moves is an exception; in this version, a boss microgame appears every 100 games.

InWarioWare Gold, the color of the building changes depending on the microgame that is coming up: yellow for microgames with the Mash control type, blue for microgames with the Twist control type, and red for microgames with the Touch control type, and white for microgames with the Mic control type. There are five versions of All Mixed Up inWarioWare Gold, differentiated by the name of an input. The first three, Mash, Twist, and Touch, only have microgames with the control type corresponding to the mode's input appear. The fourth version is Ultra, where almost any non- Boss Game microgame can appear. Prior to each microgame, a guide will show and announce the inputs of the next microgame, and the building changes color as well. Finally, there is Ultra: No Guide, which is similar to Ultra but removes the guide and prevents the building from changing colors. Instead, the colors are always black and gray, and in addition the outlines are white.

The building itself is known as theVariety Tower inWarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$!, theMixed Up Building inWarioWare: Smooth Moves, and theTemple of All Mixed Up inWarioWare: Move It!

Super Hard[edit]

Super Hard (known asHard inWarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$! andWarioWare, Inc.: Mega Party Game$!,Tower inWarioWare: Twisted!, andGnarly Mix inWarioWare: Touched!) is one of the Variety Towers the player plays. Depending on the game, it can be the second, third, or final tower faced. In this tower, the microgames do not increase in difficulty. However, the game starts at avery fast speed, giving the player very little time to react to and complete the microgames. Prior toWarioWare: Touched!, themicrogames' music did not rise in pitch while they were sped up.

inWarioWare Gold, there are four versions of this mode: Mash, Twist, Touch, and Ultra. These function identically to their counterparts in All Mixed Up.

The building itself is known as theBuilding of Thrills inWarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$!, theSuper Hard Building inWarioWare: Smooth Moves,Super Hard Tower inWarioWare: Get It Together!, and theTemple of Super Hard inWarioWare: Move It!

Playing as18-Volt inGamer fromGame & Wario allows access to a similar BALLOON FIGHTER mode known asUltra Speed. Much like other incarnations of Super Hard, Ultra Speed has the player start at a very fast speed, while the microgames remain at the first difficulty level.
