Triangular Blocks[1] areblocks first appearing inSuper Mario World. They are smiling pink rounded-triangular blocks placed against walls or other objects.

Super Mario World[edit]
Triangular Blocks are objects inSuper Mario World. They can be used torun up the surface they are placed against.[2] EitherYoshi or aKoopa Shell bounces if one of them touches a Triangular Block.
Circular and square variants were originally planned, as shown on a sprite sheet.[3]
Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3[edit]
Triangular Blocks are objects in theWorld-e levelsSlidin' the Slopes,Sea to Sky,Castle Dash, andCaped Escape ofSuper Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3. They are a lighter pink color than before. Some Triangular Blocks are positioned between walls and ceilings, adding the mechanic to run on the latter surface.
Super Mario World television series[edit]
Three episodes of theSuper Mario World cartoon include Triangular Blocks: "Ghosts 'R' Us," where Yoshi bounces off one to go toWizenheimer'shaunted house and rescue the other characters; "King Scoopa Koopa," where one is used byMario andPrincess Toadstool to escape from theCave People, who have becomeChickadactyls; and "Born to Ride," where Mario,Luigi, Princess Toadstool, and Yoshi drive their motorbikes up one to dodgeDuke, Lulu, and Rockman. In the latter episode, the Triangular Block is shown to be sad when Rockman fails to use it.
