Gameplay[edit]
The player controls a climber on a rock wall. One of their hands is holding a rock, and the other is free. The climber rotates around the rock they are holding, moving counterclockwise for left tilts and clockwise for right tilts. Rotating around is the means of moving the free hand. The goal is to reach the top of the wall with a hand. This is marked by a red line, and the game is complete upon touching the top, not the following animation where the climber jumps on top of the wall. The animation has the climber face the screen; the face of the climber can vary. While some instances of the 1st level difficulty put the top of the wall within reach of the climber, others have the top positioned off screen and therefore too far away. Further, the top is always too far away in the other difficulties. Instead, the player needs to grab onto another rock with the free hand. The climber releases the rock they were initially holding on to when this happens, changing the point the climber is rotating around and therefore allowing their free hand to reach the top of the wall. Note that the hand has to be moving slowly to grab a rock, a significant difference compared to the instant win condition of the top of the wall. While there can be many rocks on the wall, in practice the fixed width of the climber's arms means only one of them can be grabbed. The others are distractions from the usable rock. The climber cannot grab a rock lower than the rock he is already holding on to.
- 1st level difficulty: The top of the wall may be within reach from the start of the microgame. If it is not, the climber does not have to rotate very far to grab the rock needed to reach the top. There are no additional rocks on the wall.
- 2nd level difficulty: The climber has to rotate farther to grab the rock needed to reach the top. There are some rocks that the climber cannot use.
- 3rd level difficulty: The climber has to rotate very far to grab the rock needed to reach the top. There are many rocks the climber cannot use.
