Toadofsky is a character inSuper Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. He is aMushroom composer whose name is a play on the name of Russian composerPyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, although his wig looks more like that ofJohann Sebastian Bach. He is found inMelody Bay, a small area connected toTadpole Pond, where he is struggling to compose a new song due to composer's block.Mario can help him by playing three specific melodies, and after each one, Toadofsky gives Mario a special membership card that unlocks items at the Tadpole Pond'sJuice Bar. After all three melodies are played, Toadofsky allows Mario to compose the last quarter of the symphony himself. During the ending, Toadofsky is seen putting on a concert attended by theFrog Sage.
The following are the melodies of Toadofsky's symphony:
- "The Frog Sage's suite no. 18" (originally "Frogfucius' suite #18"), learned from reading a poster at the Frog Sage's study, awards theAlto Card.
- "Moleville blues," learned fromPa Mole in theMole Mines, awards theTenor Card.
- A melody learned from aStarslap inMonstro Town awards theSoprano Card.
- Mario himself composes the last quarter of the symphony in Tadpole Pond.
Toadofsky, referred to asToadofski, also appears inMario and the Incredible Rescue. He gives Mario,Luigi, andToad one of the sixMushrooms in exchange for Mario composing a new song. Mario titled his new composition "Falling Down a Waterfall."
