Toadbert is aToad who appears as a supporting character in theMario & Luigi series, debuting inMario & Luigi: Partners in Time. He seems to be good friends withToadiko and has a tendency to say "by boogity" very often. He is distinguished by his blue mushroom cap with white spots, yellow tie, and thick glasses.
Toadbert appears to be on very good terms withMario andLuigi, as seen by the help that he had provided for them throughout the series (from providing them with hints to almost fighting alongside them in a battle againstSunnycide).

Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time[edit]
Toadbert first appears in the game's intro cutscene, in which he andToadiko accompanyPrincess Peach inProfessor E. Gadd'stime machine. The three travel back in time to theMushroom Kingdom from the past.
The three arrive at the beginning of theShroob's attack ofPeach's Castle, where they are confronted byElder Princess Shroob andPrincess Shroob. While Peach is able to trap the Elder Princess Shroob in theCobalt Star, she is soon captured by the other princess. Toadbert along with Toadiko however manage to escape from the castle by this point.
Toadbert first meets the Mario Bros. inYoob's belly where he is with someeggs. WhenMario,Luigi,Baby Mario, andBaby Luigi come up to him he does not remember a thing about what had happened before. He just says that he remembers that he drew adrawing before he lost his memory and he remembers nothing. He also says that the picture must have made him forget stuff, which is actually a drawing of what he drew during the fight. When Mario, Luigi, and the baby Bros. enter into the next chamber they encounterSunnycide, the monster that is creating the eggs. Toadbert wanting to help the heroes, rushes into the scene in order to assist the bros. in their battle. Unfortunately as Toadbert turns around to speak with the heroes, he is attacked by Sunnycide who had thrown one of the large eggs at him causing Toadbert to fall unconscious.
After escaping from the insides ofYoob's Belly, he stays inYoshi's Island for most of the game. As the Mario Bros. leave the island, Toadbert himself thanks the Bros. for their help and even tells theYoshis that it was the Mario Bros. who had rescued them, and notBaby Bowser. After the Bros. andKylie Koopa are ejected from theShroob Mother Ship, Kylie lands on Toadbert's head, causing him to regain his memories.
Toadbert, along with Kylie, later useLakitu Travel to arrive atStar Shrine to meet with the brothers, where Toadbert reveals to the group that he has the fifth shard of theCobalt Star. When he sees the Cobalt Star in Mario and Luigi's possession, he runs away and takes his shard deeper into the Star Shrine.
The Bros. eventually find Toadbert collapsed on the ground, where he tells Mario to rub the dirt off of his Drawing, revealing that there are two Shroob princesses. Before he can explain the events that happened at Peach's Castle, the group is attacked by theElder Shrooboid, who turns Toadbert into aShroob mushroom. He remains as such until the end of the game, when he is reverted back to normal using baby's tears.
Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story /Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey[edit]
Toadbert makes a reappearance inMario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story and its3DS remake. He first appears atPeach's Castle where he along with Mario, Luigi,Starlow, Peach,Toadsworth and several other Toads were discussing about theblorbs, a recent disease in the Mushroom Kingdom that is causing the Toads to inflate many times their size and roll around uncomfortably. However, midway through their discussion,Bowser arrives to kidnap the princess.
After Mario defeats Bowser, it is revealed that Toadbert is one of the only members from the meeting who had not left. The group discusses what to do, with Toadbert suggesting stopping the meeting. Toadsworth refuses, though, and suggests for the group to go find the other members. It is then that Bowser re-enters the castle, and Toadbert, along with the rest of the group, are sucked intoBowser's body.
After being found and freed inNerve Cluster, Toadbert helps the Mario Bros. by scouting out areas of Bowser's body and often appears to instruct the brothers about the functions in various areas. He also has a hint booth inToad Square. He also appears to be on good terms withToadsworth, as the two can be seen accompanying the bros. in several areas throughout Bowser's body. An example is that when the Mario bros. are healing Bowser's back in theLumbar Nook, Toadbert comes and receives a cup of tea from Toadsworth.
In the ending of the game, Toadbert along with Mario, Luigi, Starlow, Peach, Toadsworth and several other Toads can be seen celebrating happily in front of a confused yet furious Bowser. When Bowser discovers that Mario, Luigi and the others were inside his body the whole time, he snaps and uses his fire breath, causing most of the Toads, including Toadbert, to flee.
