AToad in the Desert is a jollyToad composer who lives inDry Dry Outpost inPaper Mario. Despite living in Dry Dry Outpost, he is the only Toad resident in said town who is not aDryite. He is good at writing music, but not so good at writing theLyrics. Later in the events of Chapter 3 in the game,Master Poet has attempted to write the Lyrics forPop Diva to make her sing again afterPrincess Peach is kidnapped byBowser. When he is done, he realizes that he needs a composer to write the song with music keys. Master Poet begs toMario to find the composer in theMushroom Kingdom as he gives the Lyrics to him. When Mario gives the item to the Toad in the Desert, he is strongly amazed by Master Poet's work; he aptly writes in music keys which turn the Lyrics into theMelody. He warns Mario that this song is only for an expert to sing; only Pop Diva can only sing the Melody to recover her lost voice.
