TheTip Network[1] is a channel viewed on TV screens inSuper Mario Galaxy 2. The TVs are mounted on a green-and-yellowsign-like post. They provide helpful tips for the player for upcoming obstacles or challenges that lie ahead.Mario needs to stand in front of a TV to activate it. The Tip Network shows a quick demonstration of how to surpass a difficult part of thegalaxy. Unlike theCosmic Spirit, it does not degrade thePower Star to aBronze Star. The Tip Network plays a similar role to thehint movies inPeach's Castle inNew Super Mario Bros. Wii, except that it does not cost the player anything. If the player plays asLuigi, the TVs do not appear.
Tip Network locations[edit]
- Sky Station Galaxy (spin-attacking enemies)
- Spin-Dig Galaxy (Drill Zone Planet solution, appears about one to two minutes after Mario arrives on the planet)
- Fluffy Bluff Galaxy (Cloud Flower moves)
- Bowser Jr.'s Fiery Flotilla (Spin Jump)
- Puzzle Plank Galaxy (Ground Pound)
- Supermassive Galaxy (Long Jump)
- Space Storm Galaxy (Bob-omb Planet solution)
Names in other languages[edit]
The contemporaneous name for each language is listed first. Subsequent names are listed in chronological order for each language, from oldest to newest, and have the media with which they are associated in the "Notes" column. Names exclusive to localizations of theSuper Mario Bros. Encyclopedia are not prioritized due toconcerns about circular reporting, and are only listed first for their respective languages if they are the only ones available.

Notes[edit]
- After the Tip Network finishes showing the player how to overcome obstacles, the entirelevel is reset as if the player just landed in the galaxy. Because this causescoins andStar Bits to reappear, the player can collect 999 of them in a single level this way.
- If the player looks directly at the Tip Network sign through Mario's view, they will see what appears to be an infinite mirror effect of the Tip Network screen, as the screen on the Tip Network sign displays whatever is currently on the game screen.
- Like the Cosmic Spirit, some of the TVs may appear if the player loses too many lives.
