Thunder Rage
AThunder Rage is an item in thePaper Mario series first appearing inPaper Mario. It deals five lightning-elemental damage to all enemies on-screen, and acts like a stronger version ofThunder Bolt, an item that hurts only one enemy. The Thunder Rage appears to be upside down, as opposed to its upright position in laterPaper Mario games.
It reappears inPaper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. The original description claims that this item has a small chance ofstunning an enemy, but this is incorrect. However, if used on lightning related enemies such asRuff Puffs, they will gainHP.
When used inSuper Paper Mario, the player must first shake theWii Remote to gain power. After that, lightning will strike on-screen enemies, dealing from a minimum of 3 damage to a maximum of 12 damage to them depending on how much the Wii Remote has been shook.
In volume 26 ofSuper Mario-kun, a Yoshi in theFearsome 5 uses a Thunder Rage to defeat aWhite Magikoopa.
